If you are indoors, your comfort, and the air you breathe is very likely the result of an HVAC system. Do you know if the HVAC system contains materials that are hazardous to your health or harmful to the environment? This course is intended to educate specifiers on the adaptation of Materials Transparency certification to HVAC systems and provides guidance for designing buildings with HVAC systems that are friendly to the outdoor environment while providing a healthy indoor environment for occupants.

  • Learning Objectives:
    1. Review Materials Transparency as it relates to buildings and green building certification programs.
    2. Explore Materials Transparency in HVAC systems and components.
    3. Understand the concept of Indoor Environmental Quality.
    4. Learn how Declare labels and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) simplify the process of specifying healthy buildings
