GOLD can be much more than just an energy recovery unit. By adding additional accessory sections to the GOLD RX, PX or SD main units, the core energy recovery section can be transformed into an outdoor unit, include preheat, reheat cooling, additional filtration, noise control and many other configurations.
Click below to see the available accessory sections.
ACSA dampers are used as shut-off dampers or forced airflow dampers. Sizes 012 – 80 can also be used for other applications, such as outdoor air dampers for the ReCO2 control function.
Shut-off dampers are normally used if the air handling unit is idle during some period, for example at night, or if an air heater for hot water without anti-frost burst protection is used.
To be installed for horizontal airflow. Complete with damper actuator for 24 V. The actuator can be selected with spring return or on/off actuation. ACSA sizes 012 – 80 are also available with modulating type actuator with spring return.
The ACLA section is used for reheating the supply air. The section uses hot water or steam as the heating medium.
In many applications, it is possible to omit the air heater for reheat if the air handling unit control system is operated in the temperature
regulation mode according to the ERS model and when the efficient rotary heat exchanger is in use.
The water coil includes steel stub outs with manual drain and vent plugs, The ACKA water coils can be selected in AHU Design software. To be installed for horizontal airflow.
Valve set
The TBVL valve set with 2-way valve, actuator and connection cable with quick-fit connector can be ordered for the chilled water coil.
Temperature sensor water for reading incoming or outgoing cooling medium temperatures as an option.
If you use a valve of your own, you can instead select a set of electrical connection components. This set contains a connection cable with quick-fit connector, resistor and insertion type or strap-on sensor.
The ACLF section is used for preheating the supply air. The section uses hot water as the heating medium. Install the ACLF in the outdoor air path to the ERV.
When it is cold outside and the humidity is high, preheating the incoming outdoor air will prevent condensation in the air filters (hoare frosting). The function can also be utilized when it is extremely cold outdoors and it is desirable to heat the air up to -4°F (-20°C), for instance.
In combination with the counterflow heat exchanger, it can also be of interest to preheat the air to be spared having to let it bypass the
heat exchanger. The coil includes steel stub outs with manual drain and vent plugs, The ACKA coils can be selected in AHU Design software. To be installed for horizontal airflow.

The ACKC cooling coil sections are used for cooling the supply air with refrigerant as the cooling medium. The ACKC coils can be selected by the factory to work with most DX and VRF systems. To be installed for horizontal airflow.
ACLE electric heater is used for reheating of the supply air or for certain preheating needs of outdoor air. The heater includes a separate disconnect from the unit and SCR control on at least one stage of heating for fully modulating temperature control. In many applications, it is possible to omit the air heater for reheat if the air handling unit control system is operated in the temperature regulation mode according to the ERS model and when the efficient rotary heat exchanger is in use. To be installed for horizontal airflow. The heater requires a separate power connection from the unit.
The ACLK coil section has both a hot water and chilled water coil for heating and cooling. There is an access section between the coils including an access door. The coils can be in either heat-cool or cool-heat configuration. The cooling coil can be either chilled water or DX and includes a double sloped stainless steel drain pan. The coils include steel stub outs with manual drain and vent plugs, The ACLK coils can be selected in AHU Design software.
To be installed for horizontal airflow.

The ACBR air recirculation section is an extra unit section that has a motor-driven damper (on/off or modulating) in the intermediate level.
The air recirculation section is available for the size 011 and larger GOLD RX and PX units. The ACBR can be used for mixing outdoor air and return air during operation (RECO2) or for 100% recirculation during night setback. The GOLD PX cannot be used for the ReCO function2.
The ACGA spacer section is used when provision for spacing is required. The ACGA comes in either 22.5″ (565 mm) or 33.5″ (850 mm) lengths and must be installed for horizontal airflow.
The ACIA spacer section is used when provision for inspection is required. The ACIA inspection section is available in two variants, with inspection door the entire length of the section (sizes 005-80), or split cover panel/inspection door (sizes 005-040 – long length). The ACIA comes in either 22.5″ (565 mm) or 33.5″ (850 mm) lengths and must be installed for horizontal airflow.
The ACFE multisection is an extra unit section, available in 22.5″ (565 mm) or 33.5″ (850 mm) lengths, with intermediate deck and optional combinations of cover panels/inspection doors on the inspection side. The cover panels are easy to dismantle.
Up to two multisections can be used in one air handling unit. The multisection is available for the size 011 and larger GOLD RX and CX units. The multisection can be located between the other unit sections of the GOLD unit. See the example above.
The multisection is available, as a special version, with installed accessories from the factory, for example, an air heater/air cooler, dampers, etc..
Duct crossover section
The duct crossover section for GOLD PX units is designed for use when you need to have the return air and/or the supply air connection in the upper level. This may be necessary if space available is restricted or for example when replacing older AHUs with new ones that have fans in the upper level. It is also possible to use the duct crossover section as a fire bypass. The duct crossover section is available for GOLD PX size 011-040.
The TCFB final filter section should be installed in ventilation systems where further filtration of the supply air is required. Install the final filter section in the supply air downstream of the air handling unit. Factory installed pressure sensor is standard. The alarm limit and current filter pressure can be read on the hand-held micro terminal of the GOLD unit. To be installed for horizontal airflow.
