Sustainability at Swegon
“Sustainability is a key enabler for Swegon to be successful – today and tomorrow.”
Andreas Örje Wellstam, Swegon Group CEO
By delivering Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), Swegon becomes the first major HVAC supplier in Europe to disclose the environmental impacts of its products in the most robust and transparent way
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the environmental impacts over a products lifecycle. It’s not only a credible reference point for comparisons between alternative products, providing guidance when making decisions for green building projects, it also makes it possible to score additional points within major green building certifications like BREEAM, LEED and DGNB. Swegon has now third-party verified EPDs available based on Swegon specific lifecycle assessment calculations. Initially the ALS commissioning boxes, the Ceiling Collection air diffusers and selected products from the CLA attenuators and the PARASOL comfort modules have been documented within our room unit product portfolio. During 2022, we also expect to further EPDs for selected air handling units (AHU) for commercial and residential applications.
From linear to a circular approach
Circularity is a much talked about topic within sustainability, but what does it actually mean? And how do we work with it at Swegon?
We take what we do seriously...
Because our solutions have a direct and indirect impact on the people and the environment around us.
As our indoor climate solutions take the entire picture into consideration to create productive and healthy indoor environments, it feels natural for us to do the same when working with sustainability.
